House Cleaning Motivation
House Cleaning doesn’t have to be a daunting chore, it’s all on your point of view. When cleaning your house remember all the positive ways it will benefit you, and use it as motivation. Friends and family are more likely to spend time in your home if it is clean. They will appreciate the clean environment. You will be able to find things you thought were gone for good such as that cell phone charger you lost last week. Your life will be more organized because your home will be more organized. When you come home from work, you want a relaxing carefree zone where you can regenerate from the stressors of the day. A clean home can provide that relaxing, carefree atmosphere you need, but a messy home can become another form of stress.

Besides all the physiological benefits of having a clean home, it can also be beneficial to your health. Dirty homes are more prone to mold and other contaminants that can do harm to your health. Read More about this in why clean.

Set up a day for house cleaning and stick to it. Don’t keep putting it off. The longer you put off house cleaning the messier your house will become, and nobody likes living in a pigsty except pigs. Set up a time and day of the week that you have no other responsibilities such as Saturday morning. Make sure you give yourself enough time to clean. For some it might be easier to divide their house cleaning chores into different days. For example on Wednesday afternoon, you can clean the kitchen, and on Saturday clean the bathroom. See our House Cleaning Schedule for more information.

House Cleaning can be a great work-out. Forget the gym, you can burn hundreds of calories just cleaning your home. Get a timer and see how much clutter you can eliminate in a certain amount of time. Constantly keep yourself active, picking up clutter, scrubbing away filth, and sweeping garbage. Not only will your house be in better shape, so will your body.

Get rid of distractions, turn off the TV. Concentrate on the goal of getting your house clean, and stick to it. Put on some high energy music that will get you moving.

Get your kids into house cleaning. Make a game out of it. Motivate them with a reward. Perhaps a trip to the ice cream store, or taking them out to the movies afterwards.

Start with the toughest cleaning tasks first such as cleaning your kitchen and bathroom and leave the easy stuff last.

Note when you have the most energy. Some people may be too tired to clean when they come home from work and do not have enough energy. Some people have more energy in the mornings while others have more energy at night. Find the best time for you.
